On the evening of October 29, 2018, the entire alpine territory of northeastern Italy was hit by a tremendous hurricane, winds gusting up to 200 kilometers per hour. An estimated 20 million spruce trees fell in a few hours-the largest forest disaster in Italy-called storm Vaia<\/strong>. <\/p>

Marco Martalar<\/span><\/a>, a sculptor and wood artist, mountaineer and nature lover, deeply shaken by this event, experiments with a new technique to make sense of and revive this timber<\/strong> from felled trees.<\/p>

A bio-lake has been built in Castello Tesino that allows refreshing swims and dips for residents and tourists, while also savoring the peace and greenery of the area. It stands in the multi-service sports area, where there is also a children’s playground. <\/p>

The facility has a swimming area of 700 square meters, reaches a depth of 1.40 meters and includes a children’s pool inside with a maximum height of 70 centimeters.<\/p>

As a biolago<\/span><\/a>, its main feature is the natural purification of water. Through the use of special materials, including different types of clay and gravel, which allow the water, filtered and purified naturally, that is, without the addition of chemical agents, to be warmer and have a lower bacterial load, allowing it to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding ecosystem. <\/p>

The Garden of Pieve Tesino<\/span><\/a>, however, is different from those of the Adenauer Haus and the Maisons Monnet and Schuman: these are places where the owners lived, worked to build Europe, and sought moments of quiet. The Garden of Europe, on the other hand, was born posthumously: physically detached from Alcide De Gasperi’s birthplace, it was voluntarily enriched with strong symbolic elements<\/strong>. <\/p>

The garden represents a favorable slope at the entrance to theTesino Arboretum<\/span><\/a> was chosen as an ideal place<\/strong> for the installation, the design of which was prepared by the Center for Alpine Studies of the University of Tuscia.<\/p>

It was implemented by the Autonomous Province of Trento<\/strong> through the Nature Conservation and Environmental Enhancement Service of the Forest Resources Department, which is also in charge of maintenance.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Serpenting inside the mountain for about 400 meters, the Cave of Castello Tesino is a karst cavity<\/strong> characterized by galleries, arabesques, stalactites and stalagmites formed over millennia.<\/p>

The cave bears in several places strange hollow marks in the walls attributed to Ursus Speleus Ros, the cave bear, contemporary with Quaternary prehistoric man. In Trentino there are only fragmentary fossil remains of it, and the Cave of Castello Tesino remains to this day the only cave that preserves these rare<\/strong> and precious traces<\/strong>. <\/p>
